The Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition “Allah Swami” continues to hang by the mosque at NYU

It brings joy to the Muslim community, who often express surprise and delight in discovering that the artist behind it is Hindu.
“Allah Swami embodies my deepest passions: faith and design. This exhibition serves to shed light on lesser-known facets of diverse cultures, revealing surprising parallels between seemingly disparate elements such as Hinduism and Arabic calligraphy. It showcases how Allah and Swami—both terms signifying ‘GOD’ in Arabic and Sanskrit—merge seamlessly, illustrating the interconnectedness of spirituality and artistry.”
Tibetan Skateboard
IhsanIshan Design participated in a skateboard art group show at EyeJammie Fine Arts Gallery, featuring a hand-painted/silkscreen Tibetan bronze Snow Lion from the Rubin Museum's permanent collection. Sponsored by the Beastie Boys, I was honored that MCA, aka Adam Yauch, immediately recongnized the Tibetan Lion.
Standing in solidarity with the Tibetan people's quest for freedom, the Snow Lion symbolizes their resilience and identity, akin to the emblem found on the Tibetan flag. As a lover of Tibetan Buddhism's diverse deities, I find parallels between them and Hinduism's revered figures like Lord Nandi and Lord Garuda, who hold Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
Having led tours at the Rubin Museum, I educate visitors about the spiritual significance of these art objects, emphasizing that they are more than just visually captivating; they embody profound symbols of faith and reverence.
