Custom Product, Packaging & Design Development

At Ihsan Ishan Design, we design and develop custom products and packaging across disciplines, materials, and scales. From textiles, accessories, and packaging, our work translates ideas, narratives, and collections into thoughtfully crafted, contemporary forms.

Our core designs and collections can be adapted to any product, surface, or medium tailored specifically to your needs.

We collaborate closely with clients to bring concepts to life, guiding projects from initial design through development, sampling, and production.

We work with both small run and large scale vendors, partnering with luxury, artisanal, and eco conscious manufacturers locally and internationally. This allows us to source high quality, sustainable fabrics and materials while ensuring craftsmanship, flexibility, and integrity at every stage of production.

What sets our work apart is cultural intelligence. Grounded in education, scholarship, faith literacy, and global experience, we approach design with depth and sensitivity, transforming even the most complex ideas into modern, meaningful products. Every piece is created with care, intention, and respect for the cultures, stories, and people it represents.

Whether you are developing a limited edition, donor gift, special exhibition merchandise, retail collection, or large-scale production, we invite you to get in touch to discuss your product and packaging needs.

Beyond Bollywood: Celebrating 2,000 Years of Dance Exhibition

For this landmark exhibition, Ihsan Ishan Design designed and produced a capsule collection translating over two thousand years of sacred movement, rhythm, and art into contemporary design.

Drawing from deep cultural knowledge, lived spiritual practice, rigorous research, and strong design and technical execution, this capsule collection is inspired by two pieces from the exhibition preserving its meaning while reimagining it for today.

Through thoughtful storytelling, special details, and contemporary finishes, each design educates, builds understanding, and deepens appreciation for global faiths and cultures.

“Dancers” Scarf & Bag

This scarf and bag reinterpret a historic North Indian painting featured in the exhibition, attributed to Pandit Seu (Guler, Himachal Pradesh, circa 1730).

Kathak is the classical dance form of North India, and in reference to the artist and region from which this painting originates, hand illustrated ghungroo bells, worn by Kathak dancers, frame the design. Contemporary tassels were added to evoke movement and rhythm.

A conscious design choice was made to foreground a dark skinned dancer, highlighting the African presence in South Asia and expanding the historical narrative.

Combining art historical research, cultural knowledge, and technical execution, the design transforms a historic image into a contemporary, meaningful products.

Krishna Rasamandala Children’s Tee

The spiritual meaning embedded in South Asian art is often lost without lived practice or understanding of Hinduism. At Ihsan Ishan Design, we approach sacred imagery with cultural and faith knowledge, translating historic artworks while preserving and sharing the spiritual narratives behind them, creating design that educates and deepens appreciation.

This hand-drawn illustration reinterprets an 18th-century Rasamandala featured in the exhibition, incorporating modern elements inspired by Hinduism and Lord Krishna, revered as the embodiment of love, compassion, and tenderness, and the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

His childhood, spent among the cowherds (gopis) of rural North India is celebrated across South Asia through music, dance, and storytelling. In Sanskrit, mandala means “circle,” symbolizing unity and divine presence.

The design incorporates the prayer Jai Shri Krishna in Sanskrit calligraphy and references the story in which Krishna appears in multiple forms so that each gopi (girl) may dance with him, an expression of divine generosity and love.

Cows, peacocks, flowers, and lush vegetation, symbols traditionally associated with Krishna surround the composition. Finished with playful hot pink accents and glitter, the artwork transforms a sacred narrative into a modern, wearable design created especially for children.
