A QUEER, INTERFATIH, INTERCULTURAL, WEDDING
AT AN ART MUSEUM

IhsanIshan Design had the privilege of crafting the logo and branding for the wedding of Kiran James (Bharatanatyam Dancer, Educator, Writer, Podcaster) and Wesley Beeks (Artist, Chef, Yoruba Priest), a Queer, Interfaith (Hindu and Yoruba), Intercultural (South Indian American (Tamil) and African American (West Africa)) couple which took place at the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair, New Jersey.

The logo seamlessly integrates symbols from both faiths, featuring the trishul from Hinduism and the sword/anvil from Yoruba tradition. Drawing inspiration from the cultural heritage of both grooms, the color palette includes gold, cream, and coral. The intricate swirls, foliage, and typography symbolize the harmonious union of two rich faiths and cultures.

IhsanIshan Design was privileged to contribute to the religious altar installation of Hindu Goddess Saraswati, symbolizing learning, music, fine arts, and knowledge, alongside Yoruba Goddess Oba. Both goddesses, represented by rivers, were depicted with cloth wrapping, symbolizing the unity of faiths.

AsheNamaste- A greeting combining both Hindu and Yoruba beliefs - I bow to the divine within you.
