Maha Shivaratri : Lord Shiva & Arabic

Mahashivaratri (which falls in February/early March, depending on religious calendar) is the holiest night for Lord Shiva, one of the 3 major deities of Hinduism β€οΈπŸ™πŸ½πŸ•‰

His name means β€œthe auspicious one”  Folks fast all day, prayers go all night.

My design in Arabic language it says "OHM NAMAH SHIVAYA" or Praise to Lord Shiva.

WHY?

In Sufi Islam, I found many references to cycles of creation, destruction, everything comprises and comes from the same source etc.

The Divine is both black, white, male/female. Everything is interwoven in an inseparable energetic pattern.

All of these principles/thoughts/idea are very similar to the attributes of Lord Shiva who is the destroyer/cosmic dancer/Ardanadeeshwara (half man half woman) πŸ™πŸ™

Shiva is depicted with 3 lines of Viboothi (ash) across his forehead, which reminds us to check our egos at the door everyone/everything will become ash someday.

Dark Blue for "Nilakanta" the one who drank poison (his throat turned blue) to save mankind from destruction, Grey to refer to Ash.

The red eye shape says "Ohm" depicting the 3rd Eye of Lord Shiva.

God Sees all, even if you can't see him, he sees you!

Ihsan- which is also found in the hadith of the Prophet (PBUH)

May Lord Shiva destroy your ignorance, lead you into the light!

Shankar Bhagavan Ki Ji! Hara Hara Mahadev!! πŸ™πŸ™
