Allah Silver Crescent Pendant
When Faiths & Cultures Unite
This luxury jewelry collection was born from a rare and meaningful interfaith encounter between Ahmad Majing, a Chinese Muslim jeweler from China’s Hui minority, and Sangeetha Kowsik, South Indian, Tamil, Hindu American artist and founder of Ihsan Ishan Design.
While attending prayer at the NYU Mosque, Ahmad encountered Sangeetha’s Arabic calligraphy exhibition, “Allah Swami.” Deeply moved by the work, he was inspired to transform its message into a wearable piece of art.
At the heart of the exhibition is a powerful symbol: the Arabic word “Allah” rendered in the form of trident.
This design unites two spiritual traditions—
in Hinduism, the trident represents the unity of body, mind, and soul;
in Islam, the written name of God holds profound sacred meaning, and Arabic calligraphy is a revered devotional art.
Guided by Sangeetha’s original vision and brought to life through Ahmad’s master craftsmanship, each piece in this collection embodies a dialogue between faiths, cultures, and artistic traditions.
Handcrafted with intention and reverence, this design brings together Indian and Chinese heritage, Hinduism and Islam, devotion and design.
More than adornment, it is a symbol of unity, compassion, and interconnectedness.
