CONCEPT:

In Hinduism, Lord Hanuman is known as the protector, most strong (his image is found in gyms across India), the friend/devotee of Lord Rama, one with ultimate faith, one who never left the earth.

In Islam, there are 99 names of God including Al-Wali (The Protecting Friend), Al-Qawi (The Most Strong) & Al-Muhaymin (The Protector)

Lord Hanuman is also important in Sikhism, Jainism, & Buddhism and in many cultures including Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, China etc.

This design is the weapon (Gadai) Hanuman is depicted with, “Jai” or “Victory” written in middle with “Hanuman” written in Top & handle.

Red Color: Sindoor (red powder): Hanuman asked Mother Sita why she marks her forehead with red powder, she said “To pray for a long life for Lord Rama”, Hanuman coats his entire body in red powder saying “May my Lord Rama live forever!” represents love/devotion.

Yellow Sun: Hanuman as a child lept towards to sun thinking it was a fruit to eat! He was struck down by Indra (Lord of Thunder), Vayu (Hanuman’s father, Lord of the Wind) upset to see his baby son hurt, stops air from flowing. Lord Shiva intervenes /demands (from all deities) Hanuman be given the boons of immense strength, immortality, ability to change form at will, no elements (water/fire/air) will harm him. Some schools of Hindu thought believe Hanuman to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva.

Green Mountain: He carried the entire Sanjeevi (mountain) from the Himalayas (because he couldn’t find the particular herb) to cure Lord Rama’s brother Lakshmana in the Hindu epic Ramayana.
